The Bear S3

The Bear season 3 follows 2 of the best episodes to hit TV in decades. It’s fresh, aggressive and original. The show really held you to the flames of a top inner city kitchen. I would even put 5 out of 5 pals on the first 2 seasons. It seems that ends with season 3.

Although stacked with stars and guest appearances, season 3 falls short of the fast pace aggression we have come to love in the first 2 seasons. Frankly, I was bored. Even the soundtrack was interesting but not as significant as past seasons. The best episode was the first featuring the familiar sounds of Trent Reznor. After that episode it started to feel … well, it started to feel stale.

It breaks focus from the main character in the first two seasons, Carmen Berzatto played by Jeremy Allen White. I found myself in my phone a lot, being distracted vs. being sucked into the show of episodes past.

For what it’s worth, the show still looks beautiful. Wonderfully acted… but it’s now just another generic drama on TV.
